Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in America. She is an actor, singer and dancer. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway roles, she played the role of Essie Carmichael in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley is a Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with directors and actors in stage and on screen throughout all of her career. Ashford is scheduled to be starring alongside Kumail Nanjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It debuts on the 22nd November. Ashford is currently working for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust starring opposite Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film is scheduled to stream on Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. Ashford will return to Broadway in the month of March 2023 where he will star alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will serve as the creators of the production. Ashford portrayed Paula Jones, the main role in Ryan Murphy's latest FX program American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the scandal that brought Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp along with other key characters into the first ever impeachment proceeding in America in over a century. Two seasons ago, Ashford was the main character of CBS's hit comedy B Positive. It was co-produced by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda lavin, Hector Elizondo, as well as Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. The role she played as Essie in You Can't Take It with You earned her Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the character that was originally played by Lauren in Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway roles. Ashford, who was born in Denver is now based living in Los Angeles and New York.
